Reviews
tripadvisorDocent Roger gave us an excellent tour of the boathouse, including information about the rowing teams who use the facility. Very interesting. The boathouse was built using a FLW's design that was intended for a different location. The views from the top floor are spectacular.
MoreThe house was amazing and there are so many details to see! Roger was an extremely knowledgeable tour guide, full of information. It was a beautiful site and experience.
MoreThis functioning Boathouse is amazing and a must-see for Frank Lloyd Wright fans! Tour was very interesting and informative!
MoreThe Fontana Boathouse is a functional building - storage for crew row boats - that is notable as designed by Frank Lloyd Wright (though not actually built until 40 years after his death). The building has the hallmarks of the FLW style and is interesting because it is different than the other more familiar FLW buildings - houses and the Guggenheim Museum. But there's no information about it on site and little to see except the building itself, which seems to be a popular event venue with views of the river and Canada.
MoreWe only saw the boathouse from the lake but we'd like to return to Buffalo sometime to tour the boathouse. It is a very beautiful building in a fantastic setting.
