tripadvisorPlease Stay Away! Checked in with a staff member who obviously did not like her job, but the others we encountered were quite nice. Arrived on a Saturday and the keys we received did not work, so we had to wait an hour for a technician to reprogram our room door. We left out on Sunday morning only to return to a room that had not been cleaned. When asked, we were told that housekeeping occurs every OTHER day, which meant that we would have to stay in a room from Saturday until we checked out on Monday that had used towels and trash that was overflowing. I’ve never paid for unsanitary conditions to reside until now. Upon checking out, we notified staff and were rewarded with “points” and they will never be used toward a Courtyard property.
MoreStayed at the Courtyard by Marriott Midland and overall—it’s a solid, comfortable choice with a few memorable moments along the way. From the second I walked in, I was greeted warmly and thanked for being a Marriott Bonvoy member—which always feels like a little VIP nod, even if it just means I travel a lot . The room itself was cozy, and listen… the bed and sheets were crisp. You know that fresh, hotel-sheet crisp where you debate canceling your plans just to stay in bed a little longer? Yes, that. Now, a tiny hiccup—there was no tissue in the dispenser. Not the end of the world, but worth noting. What I did appreciate though was how they handled things: I was offered either Marriott points or a $10 food voucher. I went with the voucher (because… food), which led me down a mini adventure through their Bistro menu. Here’s where it gets a little funny—$10 sounds great until you realize most things are just slightly above that mark. The loaded tacos were $10.50 (so close!), and most evening entrées hovered around $11–$15. I considered the pepperoni flatbread, but realistically, the hummus and fry dip duo might be the true MVP if you’re trying to stay on budget. They also have a small but nice wine selection—mostly California and Italian—with a cameo from 19 Crimes, plus some regional beers, which I always appreciate. The room had a nice little reading nook with a bucket chair that made me feel like I should’ve brought a book (I didn’t, but the intention was there). The shower had a sit-in bench—very practical—and the water pressure and heat were solid. No complaints there.I checked out the pool—it’s outdoors, which isn’t usually my favorite, but hey, a pool is a pool. I still enjoyed a little time out there with my snack, soaking up the moment. All in all, this spot delivers comfort, good service, and just enough personality to make your stay enjoyable. A few small quirks, but nothing that would stop me from coming back.
MoreHad to move room because electric plugs did not work on side of beds. Must have do to medical equipment. Desk clerk did move us next door. Very old and dated. Did give us one night for free. Had reservations for 6 nights. Only Gabby behind the front desk was friendly! Have pictures to send to Marriott on how bad the property is. Do not stay here !
MoreA good roadside stay in what must be a very new property. Clean and comfortable, nice bed, good bathroom and shower. Room a little small but it’s what’s expected at Courtyard and you have to know your brands. Convenient location on the border between Midland and Odessa. Friendly morning staff
MoreThis place is older and rundown feeling. I had to shower with the glass door open because it was rubbing up again the other panel and I thought they were going to shatter. Room was gross and humid. Carpet was worn. Had food stains on the couch. Over charged at the restaurant. They have a happy hour but you aren’t charged happy hour prices. Food is gross. I’m not coming back.
