Reviews
tripadvisorI was sent to this sweltering city of Phoenix, AZ on a 3.5 week out of state training session. My stay is on a corporate card, meaning we pick our hotel within a price limit. I booked here for the near full size kitchen and separate bedroom area, and due to it being within spending limit, and although initially worried by some of the reviews out there, I am on day 4 now and COULD NOT BE MORE PLEASED WITH MY CHOICE of booking at the Homewood Suites Biltmore. I am by no means fancy, and I know that many Hilton guests have preconceived notions and high expectations they have attached to any property touting the last name of some overly wealthy, elitist illuminati family. As if there is some kind of set standard of upkeep and luxury other than what is most profitable to maintain. And kudos to you for having unrealistically high standards. To me a little wear and tear = character and a lower rate for my stay, not necessarily neglect. But I digress, here are the facts of my experience (with no comparisons to hypothetical other properties I remember as being better at sometime in the past, and no complaining about how another human being was not acting like a perfect little servant for me at some point in my stay.) My experience was that I was greeted with a smile, my reservation was booked as stated, and I was allowed to check in an hour earlier than the stated check in start time. My room is comparable to 1 bedroom apartment in size and design. It is in a nice, upscale location of Phoenix (rare). There is a Whole Foods, Trader Joes, Frys Grocery, Best Buy, In N Out, and Twin Peaks directly across the street, (perfect for someone on an extended stay and to make use of the kitchen.) My room's kitchen has a near full size fridge, microwave, sink, dishwasher, disposal, and two stovetop burners. Also a small coffee maker, and it is fairly well stocked with pots, pans, plates and silverware, (bring some cups and some dishsoap and a sponge tho). Everything was washed and cleaned when I arrived. At no time have I heard my neighbors at all. The hotel smells fresh and clean. There is a King size bed and TV in the bedroom. A bathtub/shower combo in restroom. And a couch, another TV, a small dining table and a chair and ottoman in living room. Housekeeping comes and cleans every other day, (unlike most extended stays which do 1x a week.) Also there is a decent free breakfast everyday, ample parking, and a small lake next door with ducks and turtles. I haven't made it to the pool yet, but the AC is super cold, and the shower is super hot, and without a doubt, I know this much, that when I am back in Phoenix for more training in late September, I plan to book right here at Homewood again when I return. Take the facts of my experience as you will, just know I am not biased against or a member of some Hilton reward club. Just a guest who picked the location on the basis of price vs size, quality of room and property amenities offered, who is sharing my experiences here so far.
MoreAfter giving them around $1500 in 14 days I was late to pay and in return they told me I could no longer book there because it’s a business and blah blah blah. I was late. I was going to pay. However that attitude of it’s a business shows how little they care about the customer. I wasn’t asking for anything for free I only asked for time. But now I’m outside in 111 degree heat with my service dog because me paying everyday was apparently bad business. F this place and f this company. They don’t give a crap about the customer
MoreElevator was out of service. Only two coffee creamer’s. Had multiple packs of salt in our coffee bar for whatever reason. The bathtub wouldn’t drain properly and had to stand in water. Toilet flushing was “iffy”. We usually stay at this hotel but will stay elsewhere next time.
MoreIf you have a dog, THIS IS THE PLACE!! There are ground floor rooms that are excellent for taking your dog out!! Nice, welcoming attitudes at the front desk.. We stay here exclusively when we're at the Mayo Clinic (too frequently)!
MoreWe booked two-Bedrooms suite with a high expectation that Hilton will not disappoint us. But to our surprise, the room and the bathroom was very dirty. The bed linens are stained and are ripped in several places. The beds were so noisy that if you change side, the others in the room will wake up. Same goes for the Bedroom's noisy door. There were wifi issues. The morning breakfast was not bad, that's why two stars. However, the exterminator staff was spraying insecticide in our presence in the dining room which could cause health hazards. The front door staff Susan stated that the rooms do not have any mountain view, but we could still see the mountains from the window!
