At over 200 years of age, this is Savannah's oldest and best-loved inn. Small rooms and dark halls create a very cozy, colonial atmosphere in this simple brick and clapboard house, and a prevalence of fireplaces adds to the charm. The inn is said to be haunted by the wife of the original owner. Despondent over the departure of her seafaring lover, the woman threw herself from a third-floor balcony. Legend says she now resides in room 204. The basement bar and restaurant (where another ghost puts in frequent appearances) is also a favorite with locals and visitors alike.

Reviews
tripadvisorStaff and service were very good. I would give the room 1 star. The room lacks cleanliness and needs repairs. It is understood that it is an old historic building, but that is no excuse in not providing visitors with a thoroughly cleaned and presentable room for the prices charged.
MoreExcellent restaurant. Old Savannah atmosphere, nice place to celebrate a special occasion. Food was excellent. Scott was an excellent waiter, attentive and helpful. Will definitely go back on our next trip.
MoreLoved it! We stayed in Room 204… yep, the haunted one. I mean really, where else would paranormal investigators stay? If there’s a room with a reputation, that’s exactly where we’re dropping our bags. Not sure yet if we caught anything on camera or audio — we’ll update the review if the ghosts decide to make a cameo.Everyone we met was incredibly kind and welcoming, even Grumpy (who was only mildly grumpy, honestly). The bar was fantastic, and Martha, Zachary (aka Shaggy), and Andrea made the whole stay even better with their awesome energy.Already planning a return trip — haunted room or bust.
MoreMy husband and I had a wonderful experience on our last visit. We love Savannah and this is our new go to spot. The location was perfect with an easy walk to Broughton Street and even to River Street. Our king room was large and spacious, the bed was very comfortable, the staff was terrific as well. We enjoyed our dinner in the restaurant the first night we were there. We had such a wonderful stay that we are now planning our next visit in the next couple of months.
MoreGreat value and perfectly located. We parked and walked the rest of the trip.
