Nice little book store with used and new books at excellent prices. Staff is very helpful. They also have used DVDs and Blu Rays at equally great prices. It was enjoyable to wonder thru a used book again looking for an unexpected treasure.

I no longer live in Reno, but for 8 years my children's favorite school break outing was a trip to the warehouse sales at Grassroots. For the price of a one day overdue fee at the library they could own a book. We built a home library $.25 at a time going back to Grassroots whenever we could to try and complete our favorite book series'. Covid has been hard but one of the bright spots in the past year was when Grassroots opened up again with their outside sales which essentially means that the once a month warehouse sales are available everyday! When we couldnt go anywhere or do anything, we could spend an hour safely browsing books (even the libraries were closed) and bring home hours of entertainment and adventure for my kids. We were so sad to leave reno and Grassroots. In preparation for a visit to Reno next month I visited their website to see if the outside sales are still happening. That is the number one thing on my kids list for our visit. I found that not only are they continuing this amazing new addition to their store, but they have created a new program of giving away books for kids to start their own personal library. I started crying when I read about it. Grassroots is just the kind of community institution that will have powerful and life changing effects on the children who are the future of our world. Kudos to Grassroots for their amazing outlook on humanity and for finding a way to incorporate compassion and outreach into their business model. You are wonderful!

We love visiting forthewarehouse sale! Lots of good book choices for very little money! It takes some time to dig through the many boxes but it's definitely worth it.

This store has a very good selection of books, but the real find is the great value, the good buys were terrific. To top everything off we got there on the morning they started the warehouse sale...$1.00 books...and it was an excellent selection of quality books. We shop for books everywhere we travel, including routinely at Powell’s in Portland, and we’ve never seen this quality at these bargain rates. We’ll be back !

This is a good bookstore with a large variety of books. Fun to browse and find new treasures for adults. I wanted some kids books and didn't find low prices, so in searching Reno area, I found Dollar Book Swap for $2 adult books, cd's and dvds and only $1 kids books. Might check out both if you are in Reno.
