Philadelphia's South Street is home to one of the most remarkable creations of art in the city. Known as the Magic Gardens, this work by artist Isaiah Zagar spans almost an entire block and engulfs everything in sight including the pathways and building walls. The continuously evolving work is a colourful riot and incorporates tiles, bottles, bicycle tires, spokes; pretty much anything you could think of. With this stunning landscape and installations, the artist draws you into his world for a peek into his mind. This one is not to be missed.

tripadvisorThe mosaic is beautiful. Not very big but certainly worth stopping.
MorePhiladelphia’s Magic Gardens is such a cool and unique place! My wife and I had a great time exploring everything, and it was definitely one of the more memorable stops on our trip. The artwork here is incredible, with so many interesting details and creative pieces to discover as you walk around. There’s something new to look at in every direction, and it’s a really fun place to explore at your own pace. We even took part in the scavenger hunt, which was a great addition and gave us another fun way to experience the space! It does get a little crowded in places, which can make it harder to take your time looking at everything or get photos without other people around. That being said, it didn’t take away too much from our overall experience. One thing worth mentioning is that you might not need to set aside a huge chunk of your day for this attraction. We spent roughly 45 minutes here and felt we had a great visit. Of course, if you’re really into art and want to take your time appreciating all the details, you could easily spend longer.Overall, I’d absolutely recommend Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens, especially if you enjoy art, creativity, and unusual attractions. It’s unlike anything else we visited on our trip, and we’re really glad we got to experience it. Definitely a must-visit when exploring Philly!
MorePhiladelphia Magic Gardens.Magic, because it's the quickest 30 bucks you'll say goodbye toEvery search you do with 'top ten places comes up with this and yes, It was quirky, the history behind it was quite something, but save yourself the money and go get a philli cheesesteak instead
MoreAbsolutely amazing and slightly overwhelming at the scale of his work. I did the regular admission for $15. There are parts of the building that you don’t get to go to unless you take a guided tour, but there were so many details to see and the experience of being completely surrounded by art was so much that I didn’t feel like I missed out. There are also several buildings in the area where you can see his murals, but walking through, up, down, and being immersed in the art environment is pretty incredible.
MoreThis is a remarkable and fascinating place created with many influenced over many years. We loved the 10:00 am tour and recommend it highly. We spent about 90 minutes there, including the tour. Our tour guide was very informative and willing to share her knowledge. There are so many details to find; I feel we barely scratched the surface. Well worth a visit!
