Our stay, room, and interactions with the actual Renaissance hotel staff were genuinely great. The property is lovely, and the front desk employees were kind, empathetic, and professional. **However, we will never stay here again.** Despite the hotel being a wonderful property, the third-party parking vendor operating at the front entrance makes arriving and departing a completely hostile, stressful, and unsafe experience. The issues began the moment we pulled up to check in. The parking attendant informed us that we could not leave the car for even 10 minutes to check in and unload unless we immediately paid the $60 daily rate. He stated that even stepping inside for 10 minutes would trigger a $26 charge. When my wife went inside and spoke to the front desk, they kindly informed her that this was *not* hotel policy—guests are absolutely supposed to be allowed a brief window to unload and check in without penalty. However, they noted that the hotel has no control over the independent parking vendor. The situation turned completely unacceptable upon check-out. A Nor'easter was hitting Boston, with rain coming down sideways. I pulled up to the covered driveway—which exists precisely for this purpose—to pick up my wife and load our luggage so she wouldn’t have to drag her belongings out into the storm. The parking attendant aggressively ordered me out into the street. When I calmly explained that my wife shouldn't have to haul luggage through a torrential downpour when a covered loading zone was available for hotel guests, the attendant **threatened to block me in, cursed at me, and threatened physical harm.**I was forced to leave my vehicle and seek help inside the lobby. The hotel staff once again stepped in, reiterating that hotel policy fully permits guests to load and unload their belongings without harassment. They confirmed they have received multiple complaints about this third-party vendor from other guests and even urged us to write this review as the only way to drive change.I am a dedicated Marriott loyalist of decades with elite status, and I am utterly shocked that a premier property allows this abusive vendor to operate on its premises and treat its guests this way. It completely tarnished the Marriott brand for us. If you plan on arriving in a personal vehicle, do yourself a favor and stay elsewhere until management fixes this glaring liability.

I stayed here this past weekend. My car got stuck in front of the hotel at peak checkout. It had to be towed. The valet staff was so considerate, understanding and kind, helping me through the situation; they were not upset with me or irritated in any way. When I had to spend an extra night at the hotel because I didn’t have my car and couldn’t leave, the front desk staff upgraded me and offered me club access to help my day end better than it started. Again, they couldn’t have been nicer or more supportive.

We only stayed one night here but the hotel is really nice. We were on the concierge level and the employees that ran that space were excellent extremely friendly, professional and welcoming. Our room was spotless and spacious. The views from the hotel are quite nice. The pool, gym area was a nice perk as well. All in all would definitely recommend for the Seaport area.

We were at the Renaissance for our 50th anniversary and we loved it. The place was beautiful, clean, and very very friendly. Our room was spacious, and very comfortable. The staff is outstanding especially Monica at the bar in the restaurant, and Tracey, at the Concierge desk. The seaport area is a place we will revisit.
