Red Bud Park Park

The Red Bud Park is popular because it houses adorable Prairie dogs that delight children and adults alike. Besides, there are demarcated pathways and workout zones for those who like plenty of exercise. Kids can run freely on the playground while adults jog under the canopy of trees.

We heard about this and drove over as a goof to say we saw it… and we loved it. Went back the next day with bags of nuts to feed them. Yea they’re cute little creatures and have surprisingly individual personalities — the real treat is how much peace it brings to just watch them go about their business. We were in Abilene for a week visiting my stepson and he loved going there and we did too. Can’t really explain how or why it brings such a calming zen feeling. It worth taking a ride over!

We enjoyed a wonderful picnic shared with cute chipmunks. There is good play equipment and wonderful exercise equipment for all to enjoy. Lots of free parking.

My husband and I went to Red Bud Park on a Monday afternoon. The large park was not crowded. The park has a splash pad, picnic tables, a large playscape, covered pavilion with exercise equipment, benches, restrooms and a prairie dog park. I loved the prairie dogs. The park is free to use, open daily 5:30 to midnight and there was plenty of parking.

There are places to barbeque, places for kids to play, lots of people on weekends but don't advise you stay too late when it gets dark. It's a nice size and not a dog park so keep your dog on a leash and go enjoy!

Was visiting Abilene and needed to get out to walk. Picked this park based on previous reviews. Great trails. Wonderfully maintained, clean area. Lots of open areas and playgrounds for kids of all ages to play around.
