This plaza, once the center of colonial St Augustine, is the site of a historic monument commemorating the imprisonment of several signers of the Declaration of Independence. A lovely spot to take a load off for a few minutes after a walk down the iconic Saint George street, the plaza also features some informative plaques and interesting displays of Revolutionary War era cannon and shot.

tripadvisorI visited the Plaza de la Constitución with my wife in March 2026. It's a beautiful and peaceful square in the heart of the historic city, close to the fort and the old streets. Nice place to walk and take photos.
MoreThe Park of the Constitution is decent enough. A few nice monuments and other features. Worth a visit and a few pictures.
MoreA small park by stop 14 on the trolley tour. There's a couple of statues & a gazebo. There's also lots of homeless people sleeping on benches. I cruised the edges to get a shot of the Ponce de Leon statue on the East end of the park. The best thing you can say about it is it's green & shady.
MoreThis is a rectangular park located near the Lion bridge and right in front of the Catholic Cathedral. It's shady and there are a few benches to sit on, a few small monuments her and there and a gazebo. It is surrounded by several tourist sights but there's not a lot to do in the plaza itself.
MoreBeautiful area to mellow and appreciate St. Augustine without the crowds. It's well conceived to provide both natural beauty from old trees and flower patches, historic teachings from descriptive statues and military relics, and views of important architectural monuments nearby. It was exactly what we needed after fighting the crowds at el Castillo de San Marcos and on St. George street.
