tripadvisorWe were not staying at the hotel that houses the restaurant/pub, but we decided to have dinner here because they allowed us to have our dog with us in the patio. The outdoor setting was very welcoming, the service was great, and the food was delicious. We thank our server for excellent beer recommendations. Since it was a winter night, the fire pits they had going along with the heaters made the entire area very comfortable. Everyone seemed to be having a great time. The live music was lively and very enjoyable.
More“Sorry you are waiting so long. Your dinners are ready, but it took longer to thaw the fish”. True story. So... while they thawed and reheated the snapper, our steaks and other entrees were waiting under the heat lamp. Once delivered, the snapper was piping hot, but the other entrees were past room temp and on to cold (including the obviously frozen, definitely not fresh, grouper). Service was fine- very friendly but too slow and expensive for what was way below fine dining expectations. It was so awkward, we just laughed instead of getting upset and ruining the evening.
MoreThe evening we had dinner at The Exchange was a Prime Rib Special evening. The service was impeccable and the restaurant is quite lovely. Where we were seated, the tables are side by side with one person sitting on a very long booth-type seat and the other across in a regular chair--so you are basically seating side-by-side with the strangers at the next table. I don't care for that type of seating, but it was a reasonably slow time, so it wasn't too bad. The prime rib was presented beautifully with mashed potatoes and asparagus. We asked about a horseradish sauce or au jus and were brought both--but it was actually a brown thick gravy and straight chopped horseradish--not exactly what we were hoping for. The prime rib was somewhat tough and mine was overcooked, but that could have been partially a misunderstanding between me and the waiter on how I wanted it. The potatoes were excellent, as was the asparagus. According to the menu, sides are purchased separately. The salads we ordered were fresh and very good. We finished our meal with creme brulee and cheesecake. Both were quite good. The wait staff was excellent and the manager visited each and every table checking on things.
MoreThe House Bar to the right of The Exchange located in the same hotel offers a breakfast buffet but I recommend skipping the unfriendly hostess and noisy downstairs and sit at the bar where the personable and very efficient Crystal will take good care of you. You're conveniently located right next to the buffet where you can order a yummy omelet or waffles and enjoy the huge selection of fruit and pasties along with delicious chicken sausage or bacon. Crystal is quick with a coffee warm up right next to the coffee maker so your coffee will always be fresh and hot. In the evening there is live music every night offered on the outside terrace of The Exchange. The menu is limited and the service is somewhat slow but the serving staff is very friendly and the live music is always fun.
MoreIt's a great setting to have some drinks and appetizers outside. The service and atmosphere are good and it's in the heart of the entertainment district
