We began a weeklong cycling tour along Chuckanut Drive and everyone I knew said this would be a lovely experience. They were not wrong. Sunday morning was likely low traffic and while there is little room for shoulders, the motorists were mostly patient and careful. We stopped at turnouts often to take photos and rest. The views were gorgeous.

This is an amazingly beautiful drive on a two lane winding road. The views do not disappoint. Plenty of places to stop and look around. Highly recommend.

This is one of the most beautiful drives in the country and we have traveled a lot. It is definitely worth the additional time if traveling between Anacortes and Blaine.

If you like great views and winding roads, this is a beautiful drive! We had visited Birch Bay and were on the to Anacortes, so we decided to take Chuckanut; I am so glad we did! The weather was perfect, the drive along Samish Bay beautiful, the road, while a bit tight in places has great curves and we enjoyed the pullouts. The road is 22 miles long and commercial trucks over 18000 lbs. and tour buses are not allowed; RVs are not recommended. If you want to stop at the State Park a Discovery Pass is needed.

This worth the drive just because it is so lush and green. Lots of hikes to do along the drive. Be prepared for steep climbs.
