We did some olive oil tasting at The Olive Press. The staff is very nice and helpful. The Olive Press is located at Oxbow Market in Napa.

Recognized as the premier olive oil maker in California, The Olive Press has developed a well-deserved reputation for excellence in its field. Since its inception over a decade ago, The Olive Press has won in excess of 600 awards for quality of product and “best in class.” After visiting this small shop in Napa’s Oxbow Public Market, I can see how and why many flock to this brand. When you visit The Olive Press at Oxbow, it’s almost overwhelming to see the great variety of products laid out before you: Olive oils of various types and strengths (infused, extra-virgin, and dipping); balsamic vinegars of various flavours; and a number of intriguing artisanal gift sets. Not being an olive oil aficionado, I felt like a fish out of water. Thankfully, the staff was incredibly helpful and assisted me in shedding my cloud of ignorance on this matter by answering any queries I had. Samples of the numerous olive oil types and flavours are also on offer to help you better decide. For me, I thought the infused garlic olive oil was a winner. With its fresh flavours and tantalizing aromas, it went well with bread (my favourite food!). At the end of the day, I ended up taking a couple small bottles home because, well, this was REAL olive oil and you could definitely taste the difference quality made here. The Olive Press proved to be an excellent find in the Oxbow Public Market and comes highly recommended by ol’ PookyCake!
