Beer Can House Historical Monument

In 1979 retired upholsterer, John Milkovish, started hanging ceiling attachments, patching fences and tacking the sides of his house with empty aluminum beer cans. Unbelievable? The staff of Ripley's Believe It Or Not thought so as well and featured the house on the show. Other interesting characteristics added over time are the success ladder to the stars, the marvelous marbles address sign and the bucket faucet connections. It is definitely an interesting site to behold. Simply drive or walk by and have a look.

We are so glad we visited the Beer Can House when we stayed with family recently in Texas. What fun we all had! The sisters that gave us the tour and volunteered in the gift shop were so fun and we so enjoyed talking to them. The house is AMAZING and you can tour inside and out. If you love MCM, you will want to see inside this time capsule home.As a lover of quirky roadside attractions and sights---this is one of the best!

This was free of charge and we had never seen anything like it before in our lives. It’s definitely a must see if you’re in the Houston area. We learned about it from a local person or we would’ve never known it existed.

We happened upon this unique find in Houston today. Entry is free and we had a free beer provided by St Arnold’s brewery. Our guide was great and took us all around the home and the yards showing us all of the unique features that the owner had created. It’s really crazy as it’s one of the last small freestanding homes on the street as narrow, multi-story townhomes have been built all around the site. St Arnold’s brewing company gives generous support to keep this unique find running in Houston. We enjoyed our visit.

Really unique spot and you can get a tour of the inside of a staff member is there. There isn’t a ton of parking on the street, but there are a few spots.

Definitely a curiosity. Plan to stop by for just a few minutes to see this very odd structure covered in beer cans. But don't expect a big deal. Just odd.
