tripadvisorName is derived from the fact that the beach is near by Light house and it is just situated northern side of the lighthouse. In this beach dogs are allowed and tourists enjoyed with the pet one. Western side Pacific ocean.
MoreIt was my first time walking along the beach here, beautiful views and nice people walking around at all time. Love it!
MoreThis was the first beach during our visit to Santa Cruz that had no restrictions for dogs. Getting to the beach was down a steep set of stairs and in some spots the stairs narrowed, only allowing one direction at a time. This should be part of your considerations. As soon as our feet hit the sand, dogs came up to us as they were running off leash and playing around on the sand and in the surf. It was fun for our dog but he was quickly overwhelmed with too much socializing with the other dogs. Considering how free the dogs were, we were surprised that the beach was so clean. it was good that the owners were considerate in picking up after their dogs. At the end of the beach was the second natural arch of our visit and more tide pools to explore. It was also a lot quieter here but a little more slippery for our dog. From this beach, we headed over to the Santa Cruz Surfing Museum and then continued our drive along Cliff Drive.
MoreWe went to Lighthouse Field State Beach. There is a good size parking lot across from the beach. The scenic views are awesome. This is very close to the lighthouse/surf museum, Thus the name. We had an amazing time on a delightful July day.
MoreThe park is on both sides of the road. To the left is the ocean and the beach and to the right are fields for running, walking, walking you dog, etc!!! Very beautiful area and it was full of butterflies today!!!!!! The beach was active and the waves were huge!!! Cool place along W. Cliff Dr.!!!!!
