tripadvisorOur stay was night of Aug 23, 2026. I called the actual hotel the evening before to confirm our reservation. We were staying one night and parking there until the Aug 28,2026. I was asked to give them the keys to my car because it would be moved a couple times during the week because the parking lot was being paved and painted. I did not feel comfortable in leaving my keys with them. I asked if they had any other options and was told no, and was not able to get a refund because my original reservation was through Expedia. Needless to say we had to find parking somewhere else in a hurry and in an area we were not familiar with. We were not told about this when we called to confirm our reservation. We were not happy to say the least. The actual hotel room was ok but was not happy with the inconvenience with the parking. I like to use “Choice Hotels} but I will not recommend this one because of the lack of customer service and caring for their customers.
MoreStayed for two nights due to close proximity to UW Health and very reasonable room rates. The hotel was very suitable for our needs—the parking is convenient and plentiful, it is a 3-minute drive to the hospital, we had a clean suite-style room and appreciated the separate seating area, desk, and refrigerator. The communal ice machine was a savior post-surgery. I liked that the room flooring is not carpeting, just felt cleaner. Beds were comfortable, pillows plentiful, bathroom a good size and tub drained very well, we had a view of a retention pond which was kind of calming. Front desk staff were nice and cordial. I'm not sure I'd stay here unless there was a need to stay here though. There was a musty smell in common areas and the hallways were not very well-ventilated, and also smelled musty. We had drain flies in the bathroom in the morning, not many, but they were there. We were happy to not have housekeeping stop by since one of us was recovering from surgery, but if we weren't there for surgery, it would have been nice to have the towels changed out and trash discarded. We did not use the pool, workout room, or restaurant during our stay.Very grateful for the Cambria Hotel, and would recommend it to those who need to stay in this area. It was a very good value for the money, and the location was exactly what we needed for this stay. I do think there are some areas for improvement though.
MoreJust stayed at the Cambria Hotel in Madison and we were really impressed. The hotel was very clean. The rooms were big. Check in was easy with Michelle. She happily helped us with anything we needed. Marie was great at breakfast. Excellent food!
MoreFirst the good points - spacious room with comfortable bed, nice sized bath tub, and minor maintenance issue dealt with promptly. However, these and any other good points were more than undone by their room service policy. They only provide room service once every four days, which in my view is completely unacceptable. This was exacerbated when they agreed to clean the room on two days of our stay, and even that did not happen. it is surely not too much to ask that trash be removed, towels replaced as necessary and the bed made on a daily basis.
MoreIt was a wonderful stay. I’m traveling with my band, so I like to find a restful and comfortable spot to recharge. This was just that place. Spacious rooms, nice amenities, great fitness center, wonderful service.
