tripadvisorIt is a place you cannot leave without owning a new item. Over the years, I have purchased several items, most particularly a 1960 desk and as recently as two days ago, a wonderful Alabama primitive planter cabinet, and this in addition to smaller items. They just expanded with another room that it filled with wonderful pieces. Staff and owner are a delight to chat and work with. Highly recommended.
MoreDuring the pandemic, Scout was one of the places we missed. We were glad to get back there. We showed up after lunch and missed the public restroom that they used to have. We do understand, but that probably shortened our visit. But you can't argue with the stock. Some antique stores have it and some don't. Put Scout at the top of your list for Lexington antiquing.
MoreIf you like overpriced, unimpressive and overcrowded this place is for you. While there are a few things I'd consider antiques, calling this an antiques store is a stretch. It's more like a place to get rejects from Home Goods, or Value City. I absolutely hate it when places claim to sell antiques, but then sell a bunch of re-purposed stuff (like wall art made out of old paint cans). Yes, they say Antiques and Modern, but modern usually translates into cool. Nothing cool about this place.
MoreI’ve shopped at this place for a few years now. I live across the state, about three hours away, but I always stop in while in the area. I also frequent their Instagram and have often had items shipped to me. The staff and the owner, Jeff, are always nice, and always go out of their way to accommodate customers. Jeff is knowledgeable about his trade and often knows the families he sources from. He respects that these items all have a history. All of Scout’s items are in good condition, at the most you could say well worn or appropriate wear for age. They have a lot of midcentury modern, particularly furniture, but have other types of vintage too. They also carry jewelry, art, and lots of fun lamps and decor items. I’ve found a lot of one of a kind items here. And their inventory turns over quickly, so you could go in every week or two and see new things every time. Check them out!
MoreWhether you enjoy mid-century modern or delightful eclectic design, visit this shop. The selection is ample, but not crowded; appealing without being over stimulating. Prices are fair and my only regret is that I lived close enough to pop by regularly.
