Nevada Minerals is an amazing store with much to offer to any collector of minerals or fossils. The owner is extremely knowledgeable and is ready to provide plenty of information about each specimen. It was a pleasure to speak with him. The store also offers a lot of rare and out of print books for sale. Once again the owner was extremely helpful and almost instantly produced the books that I was looking for.

We learned about Nevada Mineral and Book several years ago through a friend and have been regular customers since. The proprietor, Walt Lombardo, is very, very knowledgeable and has a wealth of information which he freely shares. Periodically, he also organizes trips down to San Diego to the local mines to look for tourmalines. The store has an awesome selection of both specimen pieces, rough, and childrens pieces - basically anyone of any interest level in geology will find something there. His inventory includes both gems/minerals as well as fossils. Also noteworthy is the collection of geology book and old claim information. The latter is of interest to rockhounds. As my boys and I go rockhounding, we've often stopped here on our return trips for help in identifying the materials we haul back. For teachers ... If you need sets of pieces for your class, this is a great place to come. Mr. Lombardo has sets and can also create small sets as well. For rockhounds ... This store has a good selection of both rough and specimen pieces and, as I mentioned, Mr. Lombardo is great at helping you identify what you've found. For kids ... This is a great store to get them into the hobby as there are small inexpensive polished items and pieces that will allow them to get into the hobby without breaking the bank. Overall, this is a favorite store and a regular stop for me and my family.
