The Knickerbocker Mansion occupied by the Knickerbocker family is an ancient mansion of multi-storied rectangular brick building built in 1770. Now looked after by the Knickerbocker Historical Society and operated as a local history museum, the purpose of the restoration was to inform the people about the historical, cultural and literary contributions made by the Knickerbocker family. From time to time, the society also arranges special events like farmers’ markets at the mansion. It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1972.
