tripadvisorI've lived in Palm Beach since I was about four years old, which was really a long time ago. I thought I had been just about everywhere in Southeast Florida (practicing for my driving test) and then just about every other city in Florida (practicing for my flight test) but somehow I missed this place. It redefines the phrase raffish charm by upgrading it. I started thinking of it as the Greenwich Village of West Palm Beach but it's more than that. Worth a visit.
MoreNorthwood Community has grown and improved so much in the last three years. It’s lovely to walk up and down the streets to see the boutiques and shops, Cafes and restaurants and there is a nice design community as well. It’s wonderful to see all the growth.
MoreVisited again after a year. Not much progress in new shops and cafes. Same as before. Still pretty tacky. A few nice cafes. Most shops are same but really cutesy tacky.
MoreWe went on a Saturday, late morning. The place was like a ghost town (and not in a very nice neighborhood). We just kept driving and back tracked to Clematis Street and found the Green Market
MoreWe visited during July/August which is the slow season but there were many closed shops and many empty store fronts. Place gives off an abandoned vibe. We were verbally accosted by a man, could have been homeless, not sure. It was so bad my 13 year old daughter refused to walk anywhere outside of our rental house for the rest of our vacation. This seems like it was a good idea when the Village was founded and started up but just isn't reaching it's goal. Surrounding neighborhood, to the south, East and several blocks north is just to sketchy.
