Our family stopped here while traveling through Connecticut. It had some really nice stores and restaurants.

I have known a few owners of businesses at Blue Back. They really had to produce and sell in order to make rent. It becomes too costly to stay in a rent where there is not sufficient pedestrian traffic. If you luck out you can find street parking but it is usually easiest to park in the garage and walk and walk. If it wasn't for Crate and Barrel and a couple of long standing restaurants, Blue Back could easily become a ghost town. Just 2 blocks away daytime and nightlife is rockin!

West Hartford Center is a great spot for dining out, strolling and eating ice cream. It also offers proximity to Blue Back Square which is always hopping all seasons of the year. Several very good restaurants are located here as well as Crate and Barrel and an assortment of small shops including a dog bakery! In warm weather you’ll find music or some entertainment in the plaza, as well as an excellent library, a theater, and a Whole Foods. It’s a perfect destination for singles, couples, and families!
