tripadvisorOn my first visit to this theatre, I saw the singing comedy show The Redneck Tenors. It was on New Year's Eve and the place was sold out. Nicely refurbished inside and gave a nice Hollywood Premier feel for the evening, as everyone was dressed up for the occasion.
MoreWe watched dance shows two nights in a row at this theater in downtown Grand Prairie and loved this place. It holds about 400 people I believe, and every seat feels like it has a great view of the stage. The seats are VERY comfortable and we loved the old classic theater look from inside. We also enjoyed the waiting/lounge area in the lobby with high tables to wait while we waited for our dancer to come out after the show. Two thumbs up for this neat little theater. Hope to be back soon!
MoreFirst time to visit this theater for a concert of The Letterman. It is a lovely, small theater ( I would guess seating to be about 350) staffed by lovely people who genuinely care about the theater. I found little that would prompt a return to Grand Prairie with the exception of this theater. This was a lovely experience in a lovely theater! It is a shame that the area around the theater doesn't share the same charm. HOWEVER< it is not in a seedy area and our group felt safe in and around the theater. So please don't be put off by the neighborhood.
MoreThe Uptown Theater is a great place to take in a good play, musical, or show that won't break the bank. The actors are top notch and in some cases you really wonder if at times you are watching something on Broadway. If you have a chance just check out their schedule and plan to attend one of their shows.
MoreWe were here for a murder mystery dinner theatre and had a blast! The theatre itself is an old movie theatre that still features art deco hallmarks, a really funky art display in the huge lobby, and two performance spaces.
