tripadvisorVery nice complex of restaurants and shops adjacent the Notre Dame University campus. Crowded on weekend evenings.
MoreThis is an OK place to visit, with your usual suspects of chain restaurants scattered throughout the two block area. Apartments/condos are being built as we speak, so this little district, just across from campus, will continue to grow and be more active. Not bad, not unique, just your typical brick strip mall complex.
MoreCondos, restaurants, shops - unbelievable what they have been able to build in this location just outside the campus of Notre Dame. Condos for rent as places to stay for Notre Dame football or other Notre Dame events. My guess is that during football season if you can't get into a campus party, the parties out and around on Eddy Street are just as good if not better.
MoreOur acommodations at Eddy Street Commons were exceptional. Staff was wonderful. The property was located close to Notre Dame. The unit was clean and well planned. Great stay.
MoreIf my review was based only on Eddy Street retailers and the esthetics I'd give it 5 stars but the crowd it draws is mixed. We were visiting for four days so we were at Eddy Street on three occasions and each time we saw cruisers with music blasting going up and down the streets, skate boarders on the side walk almost knocking down people an real lack of order. I was with my wife and kids and felt uneasy the whole time. The police (local or campus) were nowhere to be seen. I don't believe we were ever in real danger but it felt as if there was no security present.
