Recognizing the need for a pizza restaurant focused primarily on delivery and take-out in North Charleston's Park Circle community, a few friends who worked at A.C.'s Bar & Grill in downtown Charleston came up with an idea: Park Pizza Co. In addition to receiving Business and Marketing degrees from the University of South Carolina in 2002, owner Leigh-Ann Gobel has worked in kitchens and within the Food & Beverage industry in general since the age of 14. Yet, her lifelong goal was always to open her own restaurant when the time was right. Co-owners Adam Pavao and Ross Taylor, who first partnered as band mates as part of the successful Charleston indie rock act The Working Title, joined Leigh-Ann in October 2008 to begin making plans for their new venture. After finding the perfect location on East Montague Avenue in February of 2009, Park Pizza Co. opened its doors for business July 1, 2009.
