The Coopers Tavern American Restaurant ·$$

Downtown Madison's Favorite Gastropub. The Coopers Tavern, located on Madison's Capitol square, emphasizes hearty, rustic dishes paired with the best craft beers. Local sources, global cuisine. At the helm of The Coopers Tavern is owner and General Manager, Peter McElvanna. McElvanna, a native Irishman, along with his wife, Amy Marsman. Together they envisioned a pub that would highlight locally-sourced food and drinks, and yet, still maintain a global cuisine - mirroring the couple's own travels and adventures. Echoing this theme, the lunch and dinner menus showcase classic dishes like poutine, bone marrow, hummus, and frites. 99 Bottles and more. With a bar menu that features over 28 tap beers and over 100 bottle varieties, The Coopers Tavern can't easily be written off as "just another bar on the Square." The beer list is varied, moving beyond more typical Belgian imports and local craft brews to include a wide range of offerings from Ireland, England, and Germany. Beer, bone marrow, burgers and don't forget brunch. One look at The Coopers Tavern brunch menu and it's clear that there's more than just great beer. Serving lunch and dinner daily, the Tavern's menu showcases European fare like bone marrow and frites. While the brunch menu, served on Saturday and Sunday mornings, showcases breakfast favorites like croque fromage or salmon crepes. Best views in town.
