tripadvisorA very welcoming and cozy hotel; the bathrooms, towels, and bed linens were clean. The service is excellent and friendly—I will definitely be back.
MoreLovely great stay! Would def come back here.
MoreFirstly, I’ll start with the only decent thing about Hometel, the staff who were always courteous and hospitable. Having said that, they do not have much to work with.My love for Ktown and curiosity for discovering new areas in LA led me to Hometel - what a mistake! It has the vibe of a European youth hostel.Let me start off by stating that this property to use the term “suites” is a false advertising, as the rooms are definitely NOT suites. They are bare minimum of what a road side motel would be. There are rooms with 2 double beds or 1 “queen” bed, another false advertising, as the bed is NOT queen size. When I questioned the staff at the front desk about it, they just smiled and kept saying that it was a queen. It was a double bed, as we were moved to a 2 double room, and the double bed was exactly the same as the so-called queen bed.The rooms have a small fridge but the microwave, which was listed under room amenities, is in the common area for all guests to share. Also, there's no coffee maker in the room. I assumed all hotels/motels in the US have a coffee maker in the room, and we ended up having to make a trip to Target at night to get a portable kettle, mugs and instant coffee. The worst part of the room was the bed was placed on a plastic frame that would squeak really loudly every time we moved, and although I could tell they were trying to renovate the place, the bathroom and everything in it, including the towels were absolutely disgusting, ex. stains on towels, facets & hooks falling apart, and bare minimum toiletry. It would be better to stay at a motel 6! I definitely will not return to Hometel and recommend that anymore/everyone stay away from it.
MoreI want to honestly give this place a 5 stars for the customer service. Chris, the receptionist went above and beyond for my stay in July. I originally got a call saying there were renovations and my room might be cancelled. I was super upset during the time but Chris did his best to try and secure me a spot at the hotel. Additionally during our stay, there were no parking spots and he allowed us to park in the very first spot (where people don't normally park).
MoreWas in LA for a bachelorette party and needed something cheap, but not gross for the weekend. This place was it. Very central location for where we were going. I appreciated how nice and efficient thr staff was. My roommate and I liked the cleanliness of the hotel.
