tripadvisorWhat an exciting display of coordinated art and fashion - and fashion as art. The recent exhibit A Match Made in Heaven featuring Katherine Bernhardt and Jeremy Scott was an amazing display of creativity by two artists whose work blended perfectly. The esthetic shown could have represented twins separated at birth. The fashions of Scott were colorful and unique. Bernhardt's paintings provided the perfect coordinated backdrop for the fashions yet could easily commanded a display of their own. I Applaud whoever designed and coordinated this special exhibit. Thank you to the Nerman for stepping out of the standard offerings and allowing Kansas City to enjoy this impressive and fresh special exhibit. The Nerman's permanent collection is high-quality, representing a variety of media. For a pleasant break from your daily routine, I suggest a visit.
MoreMy dad and I visited the museum over the 2023 summer and had an enjoyable experience. The galleries are beautifully curated with local artists while also incorporating more diverse artists in their collection. We appreciated the variety of works as we toured around. If you are looking for a moment of art while visiting JoCo, KS, please make sure to stop by!
MoreWe did not expect to find an art gallery of astonishing quality at a community college, and were a bit skeptical when a friend recommended we stop here, but we're so glad we did! As I told the docents, you know that a collection is well curated when the building seems to have been built especially for the pieces on display. Our party of Mexicans and Americans enjoyed our time so much that we would have stayed another hour if we hadn't been on a schedule. We all left with a gorgeous coffee table book featuring the Oppenheimer Collection, and we enjoyed the first-floor gallery with a rotating exhibition of artists from the state of Kansas. Highly recommended for contemporary art lovers!
MoreThe building is a work of Art; and pieces are situated near windows to allow the passerby a glimpse or two. The museum features established and emerging contemporary artists working in various media including lots of video and reclaimed pieces. Whatever you favor , you will find examples here.
MoreThis place has the best staff, they are friendly and very knowing. The building is bright and very modern. The art is FANTASTIC! It is with in the building, but is also throughout all of the other buildings and grounds.
