tripadvisorAs a kid, Kid's World playground at Alameda Park provided me with a wonderland of hide-and-seek and tag obstacle courses. Its always packed with kids and families, surrounded by a fence, and in the shade, so it feels pretty safe. But beware! Alameda Park is 2 square city blocks, and the block without Kid's World is empty and shady, and is home to some homeless people who may harass you. Sadly, this block contains an original wooden bandstand from the 1880's, which is worth a look, and most of the homeless people here are harmless. Again, Kid's World itself is fun and safe, and a big hangout for locals.
MoreIt's a popular park with local families and probably best for age 4 and up. I was happy that it was very shady, at least in late afternoon during our visit. I personally enjoyed the quieter atmosphere of the park and pond across the street, but my child loved this park. If your child is younger and needs to be watched continually, it might be a bit tricky on this structure.
MoreThis is a fun park if you are not worried about loosing your child or at least loosing sight of them for a significant amount of time. There are just too many nooks and crannies for them to hide in.
MoreGreat park for little ones, lots of places to hide on the play structure. The city recently redid the structure and its really good. Brought family here that was visiting from out of town and had a great time. 1 hour should be enough to exhaust the little ones.
MoreThis park is the home of the national Dragon tree champion. A specimen worth visiting Santa Barbara to see. Spectacular - but a shame the park put a dumb picnic table next to the tree that takes away from it gorgeous beauty. Dracaena draco, the Canary Islands dragon tree or drago, is a subtropical tree-like plant in the genus Dracaena, native to the Canary Islands, Cape Verde, Madeira, and locally in western Morocco, and introduced to the Azores. It is the natural symbol of the island of Tenerife, together with the blue chaffinch.
