The New World Mall is a huge mall with a food court on the bottom level, a large grocery store on street level and some shops and restaurants on the upper level. We came for the food court. There are approx. 15-20 different food court sellers, and all the choices were Chinese other than maybe one Korean choice. The food court was very crowded, and it took a few minutes to find a table. We ordered food from the walk up Royal Queen food stall and they really load up the food. One serving was enough for two of us and we still had some food left over. The quality is probably similar to most food court places elsewhere.

This appeals mostly to those interested in Asian products.Most of these shops were devoid of customers.The largest store is a supermarket, J-Mart, who draws the most visitors especially for the locals who have limited transit options.The variety of Asian groceries is great if you're looking for something specific, though some of the prices are quite high.A popular restaurant on the top floor is noted for hosting parties and banquets.The lack of well-known retail chains makes it less appealing for those looking for mainstream shopping experiences.The mall can feel overwhelming due to high foot traffic, there's not much here except for the supermarket.Good for a quick stop to pick up groceries or something quick but price wise, you may want to shop elsewhere.

Flushing, NY has been a magnet for immigrants from Asia and has a vibrant Chinese community. This has created an authentic and contemporary Chinatown much better than the touristy version found in Manhattan. The New World Mall is a fascinating indoor shopping mall. You would think you were in Beijing or some other major Asian city when visiting here. Inside are shops including a full supermarket and some upscale restaurants. However, the highlight was the food court. Here you can choose from a dozen vendors offering delicious quick bites like you would find in Asia. The Chinese Pancakes were particularly good.

In the supermarket area, February 15, 23 on Wednesday afternoon around 12:45 pm, my mom and I are going to look for rice cooker in the new world mall supermarket, try to find a right rice cooker, there is no one helping, and we was waiting for 20 minutes to get someone, after 20 minute the guy came, and ask us what do you need help with, and he had a very bad attitude, and he scan one of the rice cooker, and I said can you scan another one, and he starts to get very impatient and frustrate, because there is no price tags so I need to ask for help to get the right one, after he left my mom and I figure out that is not the right now, and the staff return and ask us very impatiently, and impolite, and I raise my voice at him too, how am I suppose to know to price from look at the cooker, and I slowly calm my voice down, this is not the end of story. my mom and I decided not to buy anything from the store, because of the staff scold and yell at us. when we walk out the supermarket, I saw staff to brought a security to stop us and ask us to open the shopping kart and check are we stole stuffs from the supermarket, my mom said I didn't even open the kart when we shop, after security stop us, the guy left, the security check and appologize to us. I couldn't let him get away of it, so I asked the security I want to see the managers to discuss this incident, he is willing and happy to assist me, he said he is a terrible worker too, I walk to the management office and explained everything to the manager, the management first not really respond and not empathy what my situation is, and after my mom raised her voiced and said we just want some assistance, it end up we are accuse for stole things.I explain to one of the manager, is it hard to getting a worker, I understand nowadays is hard to find employee, but this is terrible customer service, is hostile service, for now, I hope the management will take actions, not other people will affect by this guy

We enjoyed looking at the supermarket admiring the unique products. They even had live fish swimming in water. You can’t get fresher than that. The food court had good from all over Southeast Asia. We were not hungry but enjoyed looking at the food on people’s plates.
