Saw the three legged man statue while walking around the square in downtown Georgetown. There are numerous statues around the square, worth a look if you’re already there, not worth a special trip.

Roadside America led us to this statue of a unique individual. It is located on Georgetown's town square. We also stopped at Kilwins for ice cream and it was delicious.

There are numerous monuments around the beautiful Georgetown public square including that of Robert McAlpin Williamson (aka Three-legged Willie). This bronze statue is located along S. Austin Ave. and is the work of Lucas Adam (2013). What you will see is a stately dressed Williamson with a walking cane and his famed peg leg, attached to his knee and used to support him while walking due to his severe arthritis. Williamson was an important figure during his life (1804-1859), serving numerous roles of servitude to the state of Texas including being a Major with the Texas Rangers, newspaper founder, travelling circuit judge, Texas Supreme Court judge and early Senator for the State of Texas. In time, the country was named after Williamson, memorialising Three-legged Willie into local and state history. You can conveniently see his statue while enjoying a walk around Historic Georgetown square.

We walked downtown Georgetown, its such a nice area, so many different stores, ice cream shop. While walking you can take a picture with three leg Willie, kids thought it was funny. Very nice area definitely worth it, easy free street parking. Historical plaques to read too.
