When I note that the Moonlight Musical is rated 37 out of 50-something activities in Lubbock, I can fully grasp the meaning of Under-rated. I have had the pleasure of attending two musicals in this venue, Seven Brides for Seven Brothers and Singing in the Rain. This is one of the best ways I can imagine to fully appreciate big starry Texas skies, top-shelf music and dancing performances from the extensive West Texas talent pool, affordable pricing, and last, but not least, few if any mosquitos. I am kicking myself for having missed the two productions offered earlier in the summer of 2018, which one family member told me were predictably excellent. Parking is free and easy to get in and out of following the shows. The paved pathway to the amphitheater appears to be very friendly for wheelchair access. Although there are some plastic chairs available for use on the grassy terrace, I strongly recommend a stop at Sam's Club or Costco before the show to pick up some comfortable camp chairs. There is a Bahama Buck's that sells refreshments in the amphitheater - proceeds go to benefit the non-profit productions. I am a Lubbock native and seeing this event rated this low on the things to do in Lubbock category is out of whack. It should be in the top 6 at least. Do not miss this if your visit happens to coincide with one of their productions.

This is really an nice amphitheater with an excellent backdrop into Mackenzie Park. We were here for an event and not a play but it appears the seating is nicely elevated to provide good views of the stage area.

We saw Seven Brides for Seven Brothers and really enjoyed it. We have been to this venue several times through the years. They usually preform musicals through out the summer on weekends. Check their web site to see what is playing. Bring your chairs and maybe a picnic and enjoy! We have never seen a bad production here. This is outdoors and our West Texas nights can get chilly, so bring a jacket.
