I always feel at home here. Everyone is so laid back that I don't worry about much when I go. I am a Massage Therapist as well and when I visit family in the area I come to Pavitra once in awhile. Its nice to find other professional therapists to help when I get tight. They listen to what my needs are and try to accommodate me as best they can. I would definitely recommend to everyone! Cute, cozy and all around lovely.

Given others reviews, I had great hopes for this place. I usually go to Spa Habitat in Plano but given that I live in McKinney, I was looking for a place closer to home to continue regular massages and facials. Today was my first visit to this spa and all I can say is that I just don't get this place. I was scheduled to do an 80 minute massage with Diana and then 65 minute facial. Pros: The location is in Historic Mckinney where there's ample access to parking, dining and shopping. I made an error with my facial reservation - I thought I booked a facial but instead I booked a back facial. The host was kind enough to call and confirm my intentions and corrected my error. Here, you don't have to worry about anyone pushing product on you there's nothing special about any of the products they use for massage or facials - you can get them at a local drug store or Ulta. Cons: This place is really not a spa in my opinion. A spa is a place where you go to relax, escape and receive great care and attention to the body in the form of various therapies. This place is nothing more than a slightly upgraded Massage Envy. The bathroom is outside of the spa so heaven forbid you have to use the restroom during your service, you'll have to exit and come back. When you check in, you fill out a questionnaire and once the host is ready for you, you're taken to a small waiting room in the back of the facility. You are not given a robe, spa shoes, neck warming, nothing. You just sit there and wait. You are offered tea but the ambiance of this place is just all wrong. It's not relaxing at all. The location is small and although there is soothing music in the background, you can't really hear it. Instead, you hear EVERYTHING that's happening around you - construction noise from outside, the host greeting new guests and checking old ones out, carts rolling across the wood floor, every conversation, etc. My massage started 10 minutes late which is normally not a big deal when the environment is quiet and relaxing but in this place, you just want to get the show on the road. There's no aromatherapy options (at least I wasn't offered any) and no deep breathing practices to help you relax. My massage therapist was Diana and for the first 15 minutes of the massage, I had to listen to a group of men (bachelor party) laughing and talking loudly during their check out. After struggling to relax and tune it out, I finally asked Diana to stop and ask that they keep it down. She did but the noise went on for 10 more minutes so I suppose my request wasn't important enough to cause someone to actually ask them to speak softly. For Diana, while her massage was ok, it too didn't make sense to me. It was supposed to be a deep tissue massage but I don't know how to characterize it - maybe swedish massage with some extra pressure here and there. I appreciate her for asking what she wanted me to focus on but it was so strange. Instead of starting with those areas I was most concerned about, she started with everything else. By the time she started on my problem areas, there was only so much time left and the net result was that I left with the same knots I came in with and even worse, it was implied that I wasn't drinking enough water and that's why she couldn't get the knots out. WTH????? Last, with all of the amazing oils that are available and work well with the skin (almond oil, jojoba, coconut, essential oils, etc.), these folks use grape seed oil. I just don't get this choice. In general, there was nothing unique or rememberable about this experience. With all the amazing essential oils and what they do for breathing, this could have been an amazing experience but instead it was very disappointing. At this point, I had had enough. The lack of quiet, the mediocre massage and even worse the failure of the host to maintain a relaxing environment left me frustrated so I asked Diana to inform the host of my intention to cancel my facial. Once I went to check out, I informed the host of my intention to pay and leave. She was somewhat apologetic but it was lip service. There was no intention to try and keep me as a customer. In fact, if the visit wasn't bad enough, she literally told me this - I agree, if you're that dissatisfied, you SHOULD leave. Really??????? As I sit here, my neck still hurts and I still have knots. For the same price and a true spa experience, there are many other choices you can consider that aren't too far away and cost the same. Spa Habitat remains my favorite and Coopers Institute in McKinney is great as well. If you're ok with a Massage Envy type experience then this place may work for you but if you're looking for an escape and you want to relax, be pampered and receive great service, this is not the place. Don't waste your time or money.

I had the privilege of getting an 80-minute massage by Kimberly. The atmosphere is soothing and she was very customer oriented. Perfect pressure and relaxation! Check out their Facebook for great deals! I only paid $89 for the massage because they were having a special the day I went in!

I've been to Pavitra many times because it is wonderful! The decor is modern and soothing. I especially like that organic products are used. I've given my family members gift certificates which they always enjoy. I arranged for my step mom and dad to have treatments at Pavitra when they were visiting. My step mom said it was the best facial she ever had!
