tripadvisorWe often go to the Paramount and we have seen some great events there, but the New York Bee Gees band that played there on New Years Eve was a complete dissaster. The lead singer was awful, his voice was squeeky and off key. People started leaving the show before midnight and many were simply shaking their head in disbelief. It was a bad karaoke performance.
MoreSaw Paul Riser who was mediocre at best. I would not recommend his show. It just goes to show how important good writting is in entertainment, which this show lacked.Didn't enjoy his opening act either, a lone guitar player who failed to connect with the audience.
MoreThis is where you end up when you career hasn't gone anywhere or you're at the tail end of a career. Sal the Voice, apparently nicknamed by someone, can sing, but his choice of songs, which 90% of, are unknown and aren't popular at all. Sal, stick to the hits, that the crowd knows and keep people entertained.Boring show!!I will say, the 6 piece orchestra was very good, but the rest of the show was not worth the price tag.Seating was basically on folding chairs and not very comfortable, which didn't help the situation.Save your money. Not a good show, not a good venue.
MoreI attended a concert at the Paramount Theater, (Yacht Rock Review, Jan 10, 2025) and while the venue itself has great potential, the sound system completely ruined the experience. The distortion was absolutely unbearable—so severe that I couldn’t hear the singer clearly, let alone recognize what song was being performed at times. On top of that, the volume was painfully high, leaving my ears ringing even hours after the show. This wasn’t just a case of loud live music; this was outright mismanagement of the sound system. Whether it was due to outdated equipment, poor acoustics, or an inexperienced sound engineer, the result was an unbalanced, distorted, and overwhelming mix that made the performance unpleasant to endure. I've attended concerts at other indoor venues, including Madison Square Garden, and never experienced sound issues like this.Considering the price of tickets, I expected far better. The Paramount needs to seriously reevaluate their sound system and bring in skilled sound engineers to handle live performances. As it stands, the sound quality is not just disappointing—it’s unacceptable for a venue of this caliber. I truly hope they address this issue because, as it is now, it’s hard to justify a return visit.
MoreWE went for New Year's Eve tribute to the Bee Gees. What a disappointmentThe first band we could not even understand the sound was so bad. We had good seats tooThe tribute the lead singer had maybe 50% of songs sung nicely, other wise he was terrible. What saved the show were the 2 female singers especially the Donna Summer tribute. They had strong voices and were on key and entertaining. As we were leaving everyone was saying the girls saved the show.
