Peabody Place is part of an ambitious downtown renewal effort that includes complexes of restaurants, shops and apartments. Developer Jack Belz and his wife Marilyn have put their private collection of Chinese art on display for the public in a 7500 square-foot (232 square-meter) gallery. Some of the ivory and jade pieces date back to the Manchu Dynasty of the 17th Century. Stroll around Peabody Place and see what is attracting new residents to the downtown area.

tripadvisorWow….so much jade! In so many colors!!! Plus puppets, embroidery, a bit Judaic art, more jade, metalwork, fancy porcelain…It was a bit humid, and it is a maze—hard to exit. Sadly the gift shop was nothing special.
MoreLoved the artifacts. Beautiful, go during the weekday, it was just my wife and I. The gifts hope attendant said weekends are busier. Beautiful.
MoreAsian art is not usually our favorite, but the reviews were so high for this Museum, that we decided to give it a go. Wow, this is an impressive collection. There are so many giant jade sculptures, that it must be one of the heaviest art collections we've ever seen.
MoreGreat collection of art! Enjoyed the time viewing the collection. Worth the trip especially if you have a Groupon. The only thing that wasn't pleasant was the lady working in the gift shop had absolutely no personality. She acted as if she didn't want to be there. However, don't let that deter you from going. The museum is amazing!
MoreThis museum has an excellent display of Asian artifacts. The jade carvings are exquisite. I especially liked the room of dolls. The Judaic art is small. It has a few nice pieces.
