This is a nice little beach away from the crowds. Its quiet, and peaceful. Great views of the Monterey bay. The winter tends to wash the beach away so you may find the beach gone.

We came to Mitchell's Cove beach 3 years ago because it was a dog beach, it was good back then. Now it seemed like a dump. People did not obey the leash rule (between certain hours dogs have to be on leash), it smelled, and the beach was really messy with natural debris, making it hard to play, run with the dog on leash etc. We would not recommend this beach. We found a better dog beach on the east side of cliff drive (seabright). total bummer.

If you're lucky and the whales are traveling up the coast, you might get to see one up close. But if not, this is a great place to unwind and listen to the waves or take a dip
