This is a small park. There are 2 parts that are not, as of this date, connected. One on each side of the creek. It is an easy walk with a short trail that is well maintained on the Crescent Ave side, But only street parking. The other, main Street side, is mainly an overlook but there are stairs down to the creek side

A friend and I decided to try to find the Anna Mae Bacon Bird Sanctuary in Hamburg, New York, but it was challenging trying to find the trail head. We must have drove past the Main Street access or overlook, and finally found the trail head on Crescent Avenue.Directions to Trail Head: Take Route 62 (South Park Avenue) south to South Buffalo Street. Continue on South Buffalo Street, and continue through the Main Street roundabout. Take the first left after the roundabout, left onto Crescent Avenue. The sanctuary is located on the left of Crescent Avenue. Refer to photo images. We visited in late August and found very little wildlife, including birds. The creek was very low and barely flowing. I would recommend visiting in Spring or Fall.

As of March 1st there is no Anna Mae Bacon Bird Sanctuary. GPS took me to the destination and I found nothing but a cemetery, a postman was walking by and he indicated he’s been doing that route for 30yrs and never heard of it. This website needs to be updated. Thank you.

This a great walk and beautiful scenery. It's kept pretty clean and provides a nice little escape for a few hours.
