tripadvisorFun repurposed warehouse filled with individual artists shops. Sadly they don't have regular hours on the shops so we waited for almost two hours 10am-12 pm for them to open and only a few opened. The shops that opened were very interesting and all original handmade art, pottery, jewelry and screen printing. I highly recommend the fun High Fiber shop as Ed was super friendly and even let me print my own Towel! So fun!
MoreWe basically spent an entire day in Asheville's River Arts District and this was one of our stops. We had actually parked more centrally located to other galleries and walked over here. They have two levels of studios with various forms of art, from more classic still lifes, pottery and glass works to more abstract. Some of the gallery spaces were huge (I guess for more well-known artists) and some were quite intimate. There is supposedly a cafe onsite but for some reason it was not open when we were there. It's in a renovated industrial building, so that might interest fans of architecture and repurposing. We felt safe and made use of hand sanitizer whenever it was offered. Next time, we'd probably drive over and park here instead of walking over. At least we got our steps in.
MoreThis was the first building we visited on our River Arts District tour. It was so fun to go to one place and see so many different types of artists in one place. Some of the art wasn’t great, but some was amazing! It was really fun to meet some of the artists and see them work.
