Times have changed in Austin, and now there is an explosion of activity and businesses moving east of the I35 Downtown Corridor. The Yellow Jacket Social Club is no exception to this, and provides evidence of a revamped East Austin. For example, this dive bar, amongst old warehouses and train tracks, trumps all of those negative stereotypes. It's a joint for funky hipsters, where “rockabillies” mingle over alcohol, food, and underground punk music. Enjoy company, either indoors, at the bar, or outside under the trees.

tripadvisorWe stopped in for lunch on a pleasant day. Sat outside and ate. Was not crowded at all. Friendly service (the bartender made killer lemonade for us from scratch) and the food was quite tasty. There are daily specials on the board. Funky layout with a cool vibe. We'll be back.
MoreWhen I lived in Austin I'd come here maybe once per month. The food is fantastic and they have a full bar. I like the staff, too. However, the last time I came I called ahead to see if they had space and they said there were a couple open tables. I was there within 5 minutes of that call and there were no open tables and we had to wait for over 45 minutes, and there was another group in front of us. Just a bad day. Also, I think the portions are getting smaller because we ate again maybe an hour after we left.
MoreWe stopped by here for some dinner and drinks, and it was a cool outside joint. I can see hanging out here for a few hours drinking outside with your friends. I'm not sure what the inside looks like, but the outside at night had a fun feel to it. The food wasn't bad either. You might not expect decent food coming out of this place, but it was pretty good. The social club is a bit outside of the city center so I would take a car here instead of walking, but it is worth the visit.
Moreif hot topic were a bar, this poser establishment masquerading as an anti-authoritarian hangout would be it. welcome to the new austin ruined by disney sjw's. the only thing missing is tipper gore slapping an 'I heart censorship' decal next to every patron's 'vote for beto' bumper sticker. pro tip: don't forget to bring your $300 skateboard because community over capitalism :D
MoreWe met family. The seating was difficult with a large group but we worked it out. The sandwiches are amazing. The beer selection is not bad.
