tripadvisorBeautiful historic hotel. Clean, quiet and astounding sunset from our room. Had a good dinner, with excellent service down the street. (Winning Ridge). And of course, couldn't leave town without Taffy, chocolates and some sapphire jewelry. Oh, and two bottles of wine from the Kaiser Mercantile. Great side stop, and highly recommend the Kaiser House.
MoreThis is a fun place. We've stayed with them 5 times. Clean refresing rooms. Great common room to visit with other guests Very pleasant staff. We'll stay there again.
MoreAn atmospheric, evocative old building. The Kaiser suite was a good size, and quiet. Check in was easy. The lounge/breakfast room had good street views, and was well equipped. As the only guests, we enjoyed the communal space; with other guests in residence, I imagine it could be a bit intimate/uncomfortable .Breakfast was perfunctory..juice, packed cereals and buns. Who chooses buns for breakfast?Inns, hotels are supposed to be welcoming places. This one isn’t. The first question mark for me was conditions for leaving, Departure time is 10.30 (why so early?), and if you leave after this time you will be charged $25 an hour. Notices in the kitchen area telling you “no alcohol “ ( why? Wine glasses are provided). Also bossy, unnecessary notes about taking provisions. A vase by your bed asking for tips ( for what, exactly..)It is pleasant enough, but leaves a bad taste.
MoreThe Kaiser House was really lovely. Very quiet and comfortable with a nice breakfast in the dining room. It was conveniently located and had parking right in front. It felt like home! The Redmen Lodge has twin beds FYI.
MoreWe weren't sure what to expect in this small town (we are from Florida), and booked it because we were on the scenic highway. We were so thrilled with the town and the hotel. It has been wonderfully restored and is lovingly cared for. We would love to come back to see more of the town.
