Shopping at Plaza Palomino is a pleasant mix of strolling among Mexican-style tiled courtyards and fountains reminiscent of large haciendas and relaxing at a restaurant table outside. This artfully designed center contains jewelry stores, galleries, women's apparel stores and specialty shops in a relaxed setting typical of the Tucson lifestyle. An additional feature here is the food fair offering culinary delights from the southwest. Please check the website for updated timings.

MoreVisiting Plaza Palomino is like taking a step back in time in your favorite European city. The connecting courtyards are cool and inviting with a.number of restaurants and small shops to pick from. Visit Maya's for gorgeous dresses or Cafe Francais for breakfast then Viva Amore for dinner. And the concert series are wonderful. A little gem in the desert that most people neglect.
MoreThe mall looks relatively new and has an open air concept. Thoughtthey might have some unique shops but most store fronts were vacant. Others were offices(stock Brokers, etc),Bridal, one shoe store, and a nice antique store. Upscale French and a taco diner type restaurant. Not worth going to for a tourist or visitor to the town. Very desolate!
MoreThis is not really a shopping center, as there are so few stores. But as a Plaza, it is beautiful. There are fountains, and benches, and greenery and courtyards. It's almost like a park. There used to be the best stationary store here once upon a time, but once that closed, we have had no reason to come back. Today, we delivered a carload of donations for the Museum of Art Treasure House Sale, which is their big fundraiser, and will be held here again this year. Afterwards, we walked around this once upscale shopping venue. With all the Museum volunteers, it was not deserted as usual. The design and layout is beautiful, and it is such a shame that they cannot attract more tenants. Had lunch at the Café Francais, and that had lots of foot traffic. Not only lunchers, but customers popping in to buy their delicious pastries.
MoreOver the years, I have watched Plaza Palomino go from a vibrant, upscale mall with wonderful shops to almost a ghost mall with few customers and many empty stores. Even an update to facilities seems to have done little to attract more visitors. The only shop that draws me in is La Contessa Boutique, which offers fine women's clothing. Cafe Francais may appeal to some visitors, because of its French pastries and lunches. And La Placita Cafe offers decent Mexican cuisine. A farmers' market is held here on Saturdays. The plaza is beautifully designed with a hacienda ambiance, complete with fountains and courtyards. Plenty of free parking is available.
