The spectacular Jefferson Apartments in Washington DC was built in 1923 and was turned into a hotel in 1955. The posh hotel displays a fabulous Jefferson collection of art, furnishings, books and documents that keep guests enthralled with the place. Another noteworthy feature is the skylight that was discovered during renovations, dating back to World War II. The hotel offers splendid services which includes a chic spa, splendid dining and a comfortable and relaxing atmosphere for its guests.

tripadvisorWe stayed here for our wedding weekend in September and everything was perfect. The room was beautiful, the bed comfortable; I loved the bathroom and shower. I went to breakfast alone at the restaurant and was pleased to be seated front and center (not out of the way, as many solo diners find themselves). And, most important, Omar and the staff were wonderfully kind and attentive and made sure everything went smoothly. I will definitely treat myself to another stay at the Jefferson!
MoreA Classy Hotel with Original Documents Penned by Thomas Jefferson on the Ground Floor! On our road trip to Virginia, West Virginia, and Washington DC, we visited Monticello and UVA in Charlottesville, VA to feel the Thomas Jefferson vibe. Upon arriving in DC, we were so pleased to stay at the very classy, upscale hotel, The Jefferson, conveniently located near the new National Geographic Museum of Exploration, which was one of the main reasons for our trip to DC. We also really enjoyed the Museum of African American History. But I'm getting ahead of myself. The Jefferson has original documents signed by TJ himself in the hallway between the reception area and the elevators. A statue of a small hippo in a tutu stands in the hallway, too, and she is very cute. Our room was finely appointed - marble bathroom, lovely headboard and footboard on the bed, chocolates on the nightstands, fluffy towels... The room was quiet, dark at night, and comfortable. Accommodating, professional staff. Prices are high, as one might expect for a luxury hotel. I am very glad we stayed here.
MoreThis was (I believe) our fourth stay the DC Jefferson. The rooms are beautiful, and more important to us, the friendly, prompt, and courteous service is fantastic. We are always greeted by EVERYONE with a welcoming smile. I actually threw a birthday party for my wife earlier this year and Golnaz was extraordinarily helpful and accommodating. We'll be back next year!
MoreGorgeous hotel with charming public spaces, a fantastic bar/restaurant, and well-appointed rooms. The staff were SO welcoming and friendly. We'll be back!
MoreOur stay at The Jefferson was exceptional in every way, from the moment we were welcomed by the front door staff, to registration, to lunch in The Quill and throughout our entire 2-night stay. The decor and its adherence to the Jefferson-era style was as warming and comfortable as it was educational (we took the time to peruse the photos and documents lining many of the walls), and the entire hotel including our room, the two restaurants and bar that we went to and the library were clean and polished. Loved that there was complimentary morning coffee and tea in the library and iced tea in the afternoon! We had twice-daily housekeeping, which was very welcome especially at the end of the evening. We also loved our breakfast in the beautiful Greenhouse. It was also a great location, literally steps from the main reason for our visit, the new National Geographic Museum of Exploration. Our mini-vacation was definitely a 5-star experience!
