I stayed at Clarion Inn Clearwater for two days and requested an extension through Friday night, with checkout expected Saturday at noon.At approximately 2 AM Saturday morning, I returned to retrieve my cat and discovered my key cards weren't working. The front desk issued new ones, but when I tried to enter my room, the deadbolt was engaged and a man screamed at me from inside. I rushed to the lobby in a panic because my cat was still in the room.Staff initially told me neither cleaning crew had seen my cat and that nothing could be done until morning. They couldn't even locate my reservation because my name had been recorded incorrectly, despite having my ID and card information.I eventually saw my cat looking out the window of my former room, which was now occupied by a stranger. Staff obtained keys to open the door, and I managed to retrieve my cat before the man screamed at me to get out.THE HOTEL GAVE ME KEYS TO A ROOM OCCUPIED BY AN UNKNOWN MAN. This was a terrifying safety situation that could have ended in sexual assault or violence. I had no way of knowing whether this stranger posed a threat to me or my cat.Then things got even worse. A friend suggested checking the dumpster, where I found my expensive cat carrier, automatic feeder, clothing, sentimental notebooks, and other belongings. I had to CLIMB INTO THE DUMPSTER to retrieve my own property. Other belongings, including electronic cords, were missing.I'm a broke college student who works hard for what I own. Losing things I cannot easily afford to replace, along with sentimental items, has been incredibly upsetting.I contacted the hotel seeking compensation and tried repeatedly to reach management. HR told me only the owner, Jazmin, could resolve the matter. After four attempts to reach management, an employee repeatedly interrupted me, told me I couldn't reach the general manager until Monday, and HUNG UP ON ME. On Monday, I called repeatedly again without resolution.My cat was shedding badly after the ordeal, and I was left extremely distressed by the possibility of losing him. I paid to stay at a hotel, not to fear for my pet's safety, discover my belongings in a dumpster, and struggle for days to get management to acknowledge what happened.I would not recommend this hotel to anyone who values their safety, belongings, or peace of mind. Mistakes happen, but the lack of accountability afterward is disgraceful. I am documenting everything and pursuing an appropriate resolution. This matter is not over.

Lovely front desk and check in space. Room is very clean and very comfortable bed. Sadly, the back of the property is a motel. It seems like it may be some people living here. We had people loudly partying outside our room for all hours. Drinking, yelling and smoking weed. I don’t think they should put guests in the same area. People who live here have the right to enjoy their space, but paying guests should not have to be at a party they didn’t want to attend.

Very impressed with the room renovations. Great conference room space for an event. The staff was amazing!!

We attended the 82nd Guam Liberation event at the Clarion Clearwater, FL from 24-26 July 2026. The front lobby was bright and airy and the staff did a great job quickly checking us in and directing us to our rooms. The hotel had recently renovated and our room was very spacious with comfortable beds & lots of pillows. The room had all necessary amenities with plenty of storage for clothes & suitcases. Loved the flooring, decor, furniture & toiletries provided. The cleaning staff did a great job and were very accommodating whenever we needed anything. The group rate our attendees got was a great value and well worth it! The owner Paul and his entire staff really went out of their way to make us all feel welcomed and the staffers that set up the Ballroom, bar & overflow rooms with tables, chairs and linens for 150+ attendees and vendors made our event a huge success! They even gave us access to the kitchen. If you ever need a place to hold an event the Clarion Inn & Suites Clearwater FL is a winner!
