I stop in every time I pass through Walsenburg, about once each year. It has a very eclectic assortment of art from both local and non-local artists. It is free but I always feel that I should drop a few bucks in the donation box because it is so much fun. The ground level floor is for changing exhibit. I find it best to view it without a tour guide so I can take my time and if I have a question, then I would ask one of the volunteers. But the next floor up has a really diverse collection of all kinds of cool stuff. Definitely take your time without a guide on this floor.

Most unique collection of art, extremely diverse and dynamic space. Great way to see and buy art and support local artists. Also got to hear from the owners about the murals they had done in town and their art career across the U.S.. Can't miss spot and it's free!

Have been through Walsenburg Colorado lately and needed to look at local gems.FOUND ONE!!Museum of Friends(MoF) is the absolute eye opener for the town,if needing information on local COUNTERCULTURE ,this is the place.The founder Brendt and Maria Berger have a space on the 3rd floor about the COUNTERCULTURE DROP CITY and ongoing communes LIBRE in Huerfano County.As of this moment 10/23/24,MoF is having the GALA 2024 with Art for Sale,prices are outrageous to thrifty.Apparenly will be up until December.I have purchased a Mykal Zocheck silkscreen Aurora Borialisfor a steal price.Artist is sung the swan song many years ago,but the art is magnificent !Have plenty more to sale for a fundraising project,due to a Historical Building!I highly recommend stopping by and get a tour upstairs by either Brendt or Maria!

Everyone who has a love of, an interest in and an appreciation of art —must visit the Museum of Friends in Walsenburg Co.! This unique gem has a fascinating collection of art pieces by artists from across the globe. Each work of art has been collected and cared for by Maria and Brent who own MoF. Many pieces were gifts from artists, some acquired for their value in the contemporary art world others are pieces created by Brent and Maria. All are artfully displayed in the 2nd story of a wonderful historic downtown building in the heart of the equally charming Walsenburg. This very special museum is a must see, and if you are ‘very’ lucky you might get to meet Maria or Brent the lovely couple who are so welcoming and who have such passion for art and for their community.Put the Museum of Friends on your list of “must see” art museums!Plan a trip to Colorado just to see MoF!
