I wanted an inexpensive hotel in a convenient location. This worked out perfectly. It wasn't fancy, but it was comfortable and clean. They had coffee and ice water in the lobby at all times. And a great shower. They kindly stored my luggage before and after my stay, giving me more time to explore. It was less than 5 minutes walk to the Metro, a CVS, a nice park and quite a few restaurants. It's right off Embassy Row so the neighborhood is beautiful and walkable.

【Pros 】• Great location. Dupon Circle area is a very good place with so many café and restaurants. You feel safe walking around even at night because there are so many people and shops. Also, the Dupon Circle station is very near to most of the major tourist attractions such as White House, the National Gallery, U.S Capitol.• I paid USD $85 per night, which was a good deal considering the location【Cons】• Really bad service quality, especially from the receptionist. Of course, it depends on each receptionist, but if you are not lucky, you end up not having your room cleaned for 2 days even though you ask them to do. On the 2nd date, I asked the receptionist guy to have my room cleaned while I was away during daytime and he said “ok”, but when I came back, the room was not uncleaned. I went to the reception the next morning, and there was the same guy there. I asked him to make sure that my room would be cleaned while I was away, and he said again “ok”, but my room was uncleaned again. I went downstairs to the receptionist on the 3rd night and a lady was at the reception. I talked to her and explained my situation. She said she would leave a note to the person on the morning shift so that my room would be cleaned next day, but warned me that there was a possibility that whoever would be on the morning shift may not check it. When I was leaving the hotel the next morning, I luckily bumped into a cleaning lady and directly asked her to clean my room later. When I came back, the room was cleaned. I’m not sure whether my room had been cleaned if I hadn’t asked the cleaning lady directly, because the receptionists seemed very unreliable. Also, my room was finally cleaned, but they only replaced the toilet paper and towels and made my bed. They didn’t vacuum the floor, so the floor itself remained unclean with fallen hair, small dead bugs and other stuff. • The fan in the bathroom automatically got turned on when I turned on the bathroom light. It was very noisy and cold, so sometimes I didn’t turn on the bathroom light when I used the bathroom.• No fridge or microwave, so I could only buy bread and dried fruits for my meal for the next day.【Other things to note】• My room was on the 4th floor, so I didn’t have to go through the disturbing nights with pub noise, as other people complained about here.• The shower temperature and water pressure were ok. I could adjust the temperature easily.• The air conditioning was very noisy. Luckily, it wasn’t hot at all in my room, so I always kept it off.• The elevator was tricky to use. You always have to open/close 2 doors every time you get on/get off it. • I couldn’t open the windows of the room. I may have been able to open it if I had asked the receptionist, but I doubted that they would come all the way to the 4th floor to help me.【Advice for whoever will stay there】・Bring slippers, since they don’t provide you with ones・Bring an extension cord if you want to use a bedside lamp on a work desk, since the outlet is far from the work desk.

We were looking for a hotel for under $100 per night in DC and our only options were the Baron or a Motel 6 in a sketchy-looking neighborhood. I am so glad we chose the Baron. The rooms were clean and modern. Housekeeping made our beds and replaced our towels every day. The air conditioning unit kept the room cool despite the heat and humidity outside. The location is perfect near Dupont Circle and many restaurants. The room was extremely quiet and relaxing. The shower was modern, easy to use, and had good water pressure. The only negative to this hotel was that every day we kept having to go to the front desk to get our keycard re-programmed since for some reason it would never open our door when we got back from our adventures for the day. That aside, I highly recommend the Baron Hotel.

Terrible Very old hotel. Don’t waste your money or time. I was there a full week. No Wi-Fi They lied, saying “The whole area had no internet. Well, why did a nearby coffee shop have Wi-Fi? Proof of their lies. Do NOT stay in that dump

This is NOT the grand old, quaint, charming hotel that you might expect. The lobby is shabby with filthy carpet. The elevator if you can call it that, is soemthing out of a horro movie that you can get trapped just getting in and out of it, if you are not Charles Atlas and have an extra pair of haled to hold back the door or the gate! Roomos are very basic, and clean, but with no frills. If you want ice, you need to go to the front desk and wait five minutes for the desk clerk (usually wearing a frown) to go retrieve the ice. No closet, NO bureau, chipping and peeling paint on the woodwork, and when I went to take a shower this morning, there was a COCKROACH crawling up the wall, next to the shower!!!Booked through EXPEDIA and they tried for two days to contact the desk regarding an accounting issue and the phone for the hotel was never answered! Could you tell that I am NOT A FAN?
