tripadvisorThis park is amazing. The air was clean and fresh. It smelled of fresh pine needles. Everyone we came across on the trail was friendly. I went on a Friday so there was no admission fee. Our time was limited, but I definitely plan on returning.
MoreThis is definitely not the ultimate redwood viewing experience like visiting Redwood National Park, but it is a great way to get out in the redwoods really close to a busy urban area like Oakland. It is just a short drive to the park. There are lots of trails that crisscross the park allowing hikers and runners to explore the redwoods.
MoreI actually went in October 24. Sorry for the delay on the review. The weather was perfect for late afternoon hike, so I came here and did 3 of the smaller trails. The Redwoods are amazing!!! This park is also very clean, safe and the oxygen is amazing. I actually felt parts of my chest re-awaken from how clean the air was. The rest of the trail was beautiful as well. There were some solid inclines. Thus, be ready for a challenge.
MoreLast week I was in the Baja Desert, next week I will be in Beijing, China, but today, I was able to take a quick, unexpected trip to the Redwoods.Incidentally enough, of my three days spent in the Bay Area, it may be that short walk through the Giants, which will remain with me the longest, running through the vein of my life.Do yourself a favor, and go there and breathe. You will thank me later...
MoreBeatiful area and a great hike. Parking could be difficult, but there are entry points with parking on the roadside. The redwoods are not every where, so plan ahead if that’s what you want to see. There’s a portion in the valley on the southern side of the park.
