The Walt Disney Concert Hall is one of the most sophisticated concert halls in the world today. It is acoustically and aesthetically advanced, home to the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and a monument to the Walt Disney family's vision. Walt Disney's family made the initial contribution of USD50 million. The Walt Disney Concert Hall is the fourth addition to the Music Center of Los Angeles County. It has an urban park, expansive public gardens, ornamental landscaping, and water elements designed by Melinda Taylor and Lawrence Reed Moline. With a seating capacity of 2265, the Walt Disney Concert Hall is a prized entertainment avenue for the people of Los Angeles. It is also known for the REDCAT (Roy and Edna Disney/CalArts Theater) located here. Audio Tours are also offered to the public.

tripadvisorWe took the docent-led free tour of Disney Hall and the other beautiful theaters of the Music Center. We took the 10:15 AM tour (Sat. and Suns.) — weekdays the tours are at 11:00 AM.Our docent was so much fun and she was very knowledgeable. As volunteers, they seem to really love giving the tours. Highly recommended for visitors to LA. We were lucky and were able to get concert tickets that night…what a thrill! The Concert Hall is amazing, and the organ is the most beautiful one I have ever seen. Absolutely the highlight of our LA trip!
MoreThis was my second visit to the building, but the first time taking the full tour. I had planned on doing the self-guided tour first, but since I was running late, I only did a couple of stops on it before doing the volunteer docent-guided Symphonian tour at 11 AM. It runs 90 minutes, it's free, and includes the outdoor gardens and the Music Center’s four theatres: Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, Ahmanson Theatre, and Mark Taper Forum. Because the Walt Disney Concert Hall is often used for practice, we only got to see a recording of the interior, but we did see the other theaters. There is a bit of walking since the buildings are spread out. Our guide was very personable and knowledgeable. The website is a little wonky and there's a page that implies that guided tours are only for LA Phil members, but look for the calendar that lists all tours.
MoreGreat building design, but the carpet is stained and hallway benches are frayed. For all the millions raised to build, don't know why they let the carpet and furniture go to pot. Hope they will refurbish it soon.
MoreA beautiful building, garden and very welcoming, helpful staff. A must see when in Downtown LA! Special thanks to the staff member who pointed out where you can see the Dodgers Stadium on the garden rooftop and the ladies on the front desk who were welcoming. We visited 20th October, 2025.
MoreWill return.Been here a couple of times but never found a concert we liked until today. The first half of the chamber music program featured modern pieces, and the second half was dedicated to Beethoven. It's interesting to note that they performed in the main hall (only half full), instead of the smaller one. The acoustic is gorgeous. The venue is terrific, especially the outdoor garden. They offered little wine prior to the start, and we chatted with a few female concertgoers. The first two ladies are friends, both widowed and living nearby. They suggested Vespiao for dinner. Then two separate females joined us, one Chinese, who said she's on the board of the Library, and confirmed the homeless people using the bathroom at the Central Library. She also insisted on talking to me in Mandarin.... and the ride to the hotel afterward, the female Uber driver has classical music on -:) thank you!
