tripadvisorI have been to numerous events at the Center. I always leave feeling grateful for America and the people who serve to make her free. Their values of Honor, Integrity, and Patriotism are the center for every event. It is never political, but puts America's best front and center for all to learn from. This month it was Ronald Ray, MOH recipient! His story is heroic, patriotic, inspiring, and humbling. I left remembering JFK's words and asking what I could do for America! We all need to step up like these heroes and do what we can. God Bless America...
MoreIn my travels, very few places include an environment of reverence, reflection, and respect. Places like The Tomb of the Unknown Solider, Arlington National Cemetary, and Omaha Beach, to name a few. Like the Center for American Values, they do not celebrate war, but rather the human spirit in the most dire circumstance! We cannot appreciate the tremendous sacrifices others have made on our behalf without knowing their stories. To share in the experiences of legendary heroes, our nation's Medal of Honor recipients; to view their photos and read their words at this special place is to honor their service and sacrifice ~ and to learn the important lessons their experiences taught them...and that we as a nation hopefully learn, too! The Portraits of Valor featured at the Center for American Values and the educational outreach programs they offer are impressive. Combining that with the Walk of Valor along the Pueblo Riverwalk, featuring a Veterans Bridge and Heroes Plaza with bronze statutes of the four Medal of Honor recipients from this town, makes a trip to Pueblo, Colorado a meaningful and memorable experience you won't soon forget. I highly encourage all my friends, family, and colleagues to visit this special place. You should, too!
MoreMy wife and I recently visited the Medal of Honor Gallery at the Center for American Values along the Pueblo River Walk. Very educational, very inspirational, very humbling. Pictures with quotes from 150 living Medal of Honor recipients -- WWII to today. What rung so true: their words were not about themselves or their actions; rather they were about their love of this country, their belief in the principles of the Constitution, and their dedication to their comrades in arms. Give yourself an hour+ to watch the opening video, read every quote, see every picture, and listen to the docents update you on the lives of the American heroes. For 1st time visitors: free parking 1 block away & no admission charge. Do yourself a favor: visit this Gallery!
MoreI felt The Center glamorized war and didn't pay any tribute to the many Americans and Native Americans who fought for social, environmental, and political justice. While the staff were pleasant and explained it wasn't a partisan emphasis, it did indeed feel partisan with the military focus.
MoreA place that will make you think how lucky we all are to live in the Land of the Free. Our docent gave us an informative description of those who had been recipients of the Medal of Honor. Excellent job....Bless the USA.
