tripadvisorKind of a cute place. They do nice banana splits, but the ingredients of their offerings are substantially less nutritious than we generally hope to find. Splitting one of those was enough for us. The smell of oxidized cooking grease that must hang off the walls is overwhelming and unpleasant.
MoreWe went to see Legally Blonde - the Musical. We were staying in a town about 90 minutes away, but it was ridiculously hot that weekend, so we thought a trip to see a show would be a good plan, and it absolutely was worth the drive (yes, they had air conditioning at the theater). Newport is a very small town, but they put together a great show. There were some fabulous singers (most notably the lady that played the beautician), and there were some excellent actors (most notably the young lady that played Elle - she was on stage nearly the entire time, and when she wasn't, she was doing a quick change, but she kept up her energy and played Elle to perfection the entire time - totally adored her). The theater also has a reasonably priced concession stand and bar. They feature local wine, beer, and liquor.
MoreJust went to Pen Oreille Playhouse for the first time and heard Bridges Home Celtic concert. Sound was great, charming entry area, converted lodge bar was serving beverages and treats. They present plays and bring talent in for concerts and events. Even have children's theater going on. Great treasure for a small, rural community
