I’m a current member of YMCA of Silicon Valley (Central)1717 The AlamedaSan Jose, CA 95126United StatesI’ve been visiting my Mom in Windsor as her caregiver my dad just passed I suggested going to the YMCA would be a good experience, get in the pool even meet good people.We toured the facility because she has a phobia of too much activity but it went well and she says she want to come, she’s afraid of drowning, so this was a big step with pressure from me.Too the point, have you ever approached someone you had to communicate with and their body language, and welcoming facial expression was rigid, my practice is in Behavioral Sciences so I’m offering guidance in how your staff should’ve interacted with me a Melanin Members.As I approached I said good morning and immediately said I was a member at the Silicon Valley YMCA and I signed a waiver I’ve been here for a few days.Instead of acknowledging me and checking the white waiver book under the counter the staff was dismissive and asked for my license which I immediately produced, as I waited for her to tell me what I already know as she typed in my info I looked at the JUNETEENTH COMMEMORATIVE POSTER’S lol I’m like if these are our friends who are our enemies?If you look at camera footage the staff member is sweet and cordial to every non Melanin person walking past while I must continue to explain my legitimacy of membership.The staff member attempted to go so far as saying I was rude for being direct there’s a difference I never raised my voice and kindly asked for my license back left then returned and announced you need to take down every JUNETEENTH POSTER you are not friends of us.Do better morally in who you hire to represent your establishment.

They have a great facility to work out they also have family swim were you and your family can go Friday sat and sun at certain times and it only cost 10 for the whole family

This is a great place to workout with a friendly staff! Convenient to where I live so that I can stay on track with maintaining my goals.

Best gym in town. Hands down. Its the Y! What more needs to be said? Non pretentious place to stay healthy, helpful friendly people work there!
