tripadvisorThis was South High School - my father attended in the 1950s. It is now Salt Lake Community College with attached arts. We attended an Odyssey Dance performance, our first visit to the theater. We enjoyed walking around the halls of the old school prior to the show. It's well preserved and modernized here and there. The theater itself is kind of gothic; I kept thinking the two muppet guys should be in one of the boxes near the stage. The balcony has two tiers, we were on the front row of the second tier. Our view was very close and I was pleasantly surprised. I wandered around at intermission and I believe all balcony seats have good views. ONE WARNING: The row we were on had very limited leg room. Infact, when we walked in, the attendant looked at my son and husband (long legs) and said we might want to trade our seats. We made it work, but would not pick those seats again. I tried sitting the front row on the lower tier and that will be my choice next year.

MoreWe go here now and then. The quality varies a bit, but the service by the staff and the history of the stage is a great thing. We've enjoyed a number of plays, concerts, etc. here. It's local theater at its finest.
MoreThe closest thing to Radio City Music Hall in the west - beautiful, historic art deco style theater.
MoreDidn't even know this place existed until friends suggested we catch a play here. Saw Streetcar Named Desire. Seats were comfortable and line of sight was good. Acoustics were a little disappointing and made it hard to hear some of the actors. All in all I'd attend another event there.
