tripadvisorThe artwork is wonderful on its own, but learning something about the artist's personal journey really made it special. Alas, it's out of our price range but we still were welcomed.
MoreThis (former) Amish artist is an absolute genius. I wish I could afford an original, (6-10K range). The gallery manager said she will contact me when they make a poster copy of my favorite piece. They let you take pictures and were friendly with my artistic 8 y/o son. It's not advertised anywhere, but this gallery is on Gallery Row, in downtown Lancaster. A great place to visit.
MoreWonderful art gallery with a diverse display of artwork by the artist. I especially liked his paintings of illuminated lanterns.
MoreBased upon long-ago sketches that I admired, I searched for and was grateful to find the Freiman Stoltzfus Gallery and Freiman himself (with his lovely cousin Sarah) at Gallery Row, Lancaster! His work is remarkably diverse and overwhelmingly ephemeral. Ours was an all-too-brief visit, but I felt a deep connection and will always cherish his work and those moments together -- as well as one of his small acrylic paintings that now graces my home!
MoreThe Freiman Stoltzfus Gallery is one of many galleries along Gallery Row on North Prince Street in Lancaster, PA, but one of my favorites. Freiman was raised in a rural Pennsylvania community where the image is rejected, replaced by the power of word and deed. Through travel and study, he has embraced the image as a catalyst for artistic expression. He produces work that is more than pigment on canvas, but a deep expression of beauty, memory, and hope. Freiman's work is inspired by Amish quilts, old maps, the seasons and passing of time, and his love of music and architecture. His inimitable artwork is available as originals, prints, and notecards.
